Review:
A murder mystery book can be riveting and enthralling when crafted with certain vital elements that captivate the reader’s attention. These characters include the detective, investigator, victim, and suspects. They should be written to pique the reader’s curiosity and draw them into the story. In addition to characters, a murder mystery must have an engaging and well-paced narrative that keeps the reader hooked from the beginning until the end. Also, the setting, atmosphere and clues to solve the mystery are crucial in making a murder mystery book enjoyable.

The Feral Father, a murder mystery book by Arunima G, appears to be a flawless work that successfully encompasses all the crucial elements. This includes an intriguing murder mystery story, well-developed characters, an effectively crafted setting and atmosphere, engaging and well-paced narration, unexpected plot twists, and clues that challenge the reader’s intellect.

In this story, the vanishing of renowned actor Kevin Bedi and his supposed paramour Jaya Saha take centre stage. Private Investigator Raghuveer takes on the case but soon finds far more to it than initially suspected. As the plot thickens, readers are taken on a thrilling ride through the dark underbelly of murder, mystery, and suspense. Inside the book, readers will find an exploration of the powerful themes of love and obsession. The story deftly illustrates how even the smallest of emotions can have far-reaching consequences, setting off a chain of events that can shake an entire city to its core. The scenes depicted throughout the novel are vividly and masterfully described, adding an extra layer of suspense and intensity to the gripping story.

Arunima G’s writing style in this, my second reading of her work, utterly captivated me. The plotlines’ richness, clarity, and intricacy have wholly mesmerised me. One of the unique aspects of this book is the fewer dialogues  between characters. The author has crafted a gripping mystery story that relies heavily on narration, adding an extra layer of excitement to the reading experience. Additionally, the cover image is exceptionally striking, while the font size, page indentation, and phrasing are all comfortably arranged, making the book an easy and enjoyable read.

With its gripping storyline, valuable life lessons, and visually stunning aesthetics, “The Feral Father” is a commendable work of fiction. I highly recommend this book to all mystery fiction enthusiasts as it will captivate and engage readers from beginning to end.
